It’s still all about pride five days into Pride Week 2009 in New York City. Lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders across the nation wave their banner high for the 40th year since the Stone Wall Riots of 1969. Today, the spirit lives on.
In this video, an early Stone Wall Inn patron, now 61, recounts how the bar in Greenwich Village served to be his home as a teenage stowaway. He also reflects on the riots and how they shaped gay rights in forty years.
Now, this is how colorful the movement has become as they walk proud on this year’s Pride Week Parade.
