How are you planning on ringing in the new decade in NYC? Does the idea of dancing in a tightly packed nightclub seem more like something you would have done in 2000? Sure, you could just bar-hop or chug cheap champagne at home, but isn’t there a more festive option? Make the most of the New Year and treat yourself to a flavorful experience that reflects your sophisticated taste–take yourself and a special someone (or three) out for a festive dinner at one of these NYC restaurants–you’ve worked hard all year, you deserve it!

  • Boqueria:  Both locations of this Spanish tapas restaurant are offering a prix-fixe menu with nine small plates, including paella de mariscos (Bomba rice, prawns, cockles, musssels, and clams). Tickets are $65 for the 7 p.m. seating with a cava toast; $95 for the 9 p.m. seating buys you all of the wine and sangria you can drink.  53 W. 19th St. or 171 Spring St.
  • Clover Club: Care more about crafy cocktails this New Year’s Eve? Imbibe 1890s style at this Cobble Hill classic drinking den where $135 will cover unlimited bar bites and tipples like the “Southside Royale” (gin, mint, lime juice, sugar and champagne). 210 Smith St., Brooklyn.
  • SushiSamba: In honor of the Brazilian New Year’s Eve beach-inspired tradition, SushiSamba locations are celebrating with their Fifth Annual Reveillon. Special dishes and cocktails will be served with entertainment by a live DJ, samba dancers and drummers. At SushiSamba Park, there is no extra fee for seating between 6:30-10 p.m.; celebration seating after 10 p.m. is $30 not including food and beverage charges. For SushiSamba 7, a $150 minimum per table is required after 9:30 p.m. and includes a bottle of champagne, wine, or vodka.  245 Park Ave. South or 87 Seventh Ave. South.
  • Scarpetta: Have you been meaning to try Scott Conant’s Italian gem in Chelsea? A $125 ticket gets you a five-course meal (tax, gratuity, and beverages are not included) in this stunning restaurant known for some of the best pasta in the city. 355 W. 14th St.
  • Allegretti: Escape to the South of France with Alain Allegretti’s seven-course tasting menu including roasted veal tenderloin and a champagne toast for $150. 46 W. 22nd St.
  • EN Japanese Brasserie: The Japanese tradition of pounding fresh mochi (rice) with a giant hammer and breaking open a cask of sake at midnight makes for an exciting New Year’s Eve scene. A special eight-course kaiseki menu ($95 per person, $150 with sake pairing) will be offered in addition to the regular à la carte menu. 435 Hudson St.
  • Mercadito: Say adios to 2009 and ring in the new decade with a warm fiesta at any of the three Mercadito locations, where a four-course Mexican feast will be served starting at 9:30 p.m. for $50 or, for open bar (unlimited margaritas!), go for the $100 ticket. 179 Ave. B, 100 Seventh Ave. South, or 172 Ave. B.
