Midtown East's Zé Cafe is new to NYC Restaurant Week this year.
The reservation line is open for NYC Restaurant Week Winter 2010, featuring more than 260 restaurants and running from Jan. 25 to Feb. 7. Held twice a year, NYC Restaurant Week offers patrons a fine dining experience for a fraction of the price–$24.07 for lunch and $35 for dinner (excluding beverage, gratuity, and taxes–also note that the specials may not apply on weekends). The oldest restaurant festival in the U.S., NYC Restaurant Week features a food truck this year offering gourmet soup from participating restaurants. The truck will operate in high-traffic locations throughout the city between 11 a.m.-2 p.m. from Jan. 25-29 and Feb. 1-5. Follow @nycgo on Twitter to keep track of the truck’s locations.
Newcomers for NYC Restaurant Week this year include:
The Breslin Bar & Dining Room: Newly opened at the wildly popular Ace Hotel, this British gastropub from the Spotted Pig team has a meat-heavy menu focusing on head-to-tail dining. The restaurant is only offering a lunch for the Restaurant Week special, and is first-come, first-serve, so in lieu of making reservations, just get in line now. 16 W. 29th St.
SD26 Restaurant & Wine Bar: Also participating in Restaurant Week for lunch only, SD26–a revamp of the legendary San Domenico restaurant formerly located on Central Park South–serves modern Italian cuisine. Indulge as executive chef Odette Fada and chef de cuisine Matteo Bergamini take you on a gastronomic trip through Italy. 19 E. 26th St.
Todd English’s Olives New York: Settle into the W Hotel in Union Square to experience three-time James Beard Award-winning chef Todd English’s interpretive Mediterranean cuisine. Olives often pulls ingredients from the nearby Greenmarket, creating seasonal dishes that are both rustic and elegant. See the Restaurant Week lunch and dinner menus here. 201 Park Ave. S.
Zé Cafe: Dine on seasonal, organic American fare in this former carriage house-turned-restaurant in Midtown East. Opened by husband-and-wife florist team Zezé and Peggy O’Dea, many dishes include ingredients from Zezé’s upstate farm. See the Restaurant Week lunch and dinner menus here. 398 E. 52nd St.
