Volunteer at Pride Week
On June 18 to June 26, 2011 it’s time for the annual Pride Week here in New York City.
NYC Pride Week’s has four main events where they need plenty of volunteers.
- the Rally
- the March
- the Dance on the Pier
- the PrideFest
The Rally has a new home at Central Park’s SummerStage! This kick-off of the Pride Week presents well-known performers and motivating speakers.
72nd St. & 5th Ave. @ Rumsey Playfield Central Park
Saturday, June 18th, 2011, 3:00 – 6:00 PM
It’s free, open to the public and no tickets are necessary.
The March, is the Gay Pride in New York City’s must-see. The March starts at noon on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 5th Avenue and 36th Street. Here’s the official NYC Pride Parade route map.
Dance on the Pier. Dance at Pier 54 to the music of legendary DJ’s.

the PRIDEfest is held on Sunday, June 26, from 11 am until 7 pm along Hudson Street between Abingdon Square and W. 14th St. The free, festive street fair features dozens of vendors, entertainers, and community organizations.
Heritage of Pride (HOP) is a volunteer-managed not-for-profit corporation that organizes Gay and Lesbian events in New York City. The Pride Week is their main event at the end of June each year. During this week they need hundreds of volunteers.
To thank all the volunteers that help make the New York City Gay Pride happen they hold an Thank You/Awards Party at the end of July. Everyone who works at their events is welcome.
