Egg hunts, baskets, candy, oh my! The upcoming weeks have tons of events leading up to the arrival of the Big Bunny. Easter egg hunts are just the beginning! Here’s our list by borough of great Easter events for the whole family.


Easter Bunny Costumes


Manhattan

Upper East Side Easter Egg Hunt
Date: Saturday, March 31, 2012, 10:00am – 12:00pm
Location: Upper West Side – The North Lawn of Riverside Park. North-West corner of 79th Street and Riverside Drive.

A fun-filled morning of egg hunting, crafts and face-painting. Kids ages 0-9 will collect as many eggs as they can and turn them in for some sweet surprises. Registration opens at 9:45am

Easter Paper Scavenger Hunt

Family Easter Fun Day

Easter Fun Fest

In the South Churchyard: Easter egg hunts for children 6 years and under, beginning at 12:30pm. Children can hunt for plastic eggs with candy inside hidden around the churchyard. In the North Churchyard: A super scavenger hunt for kids older than 6 years. Every child gets a prize at the end. Also in the North Churchyard, for children of all ages: digital photos with the Easter Bunny; games and crafts, including making your own Easter bonnet/hat; and music by Bari Koral Band


Brooklyn

Sunset Park Easter Egg Hunt

The activities starts with an egg hunt through the grassy hills of Sunset Park. After the egg hunt you can enjoy egg toss, tug-of-war, bean bag toss, and arts and crafts.

Eggs-Travaganza Easter Egg Hunt

Location: Crown Heights – Brooklyn Children’s Museum, 145 Brooklyn Ave at St Marks Ave

Bring a basket and hunt in the museum’s garden for eggs filled with prizes, treats and golden tickets. After the hunt, there is a private craft area for family fun.

Brooklyn Heights Spring Egg Hunt

Candy, treats, balloons and an egg hunt are part of this annual neighborhood fest. There will also be a bake sale to benefit the playground committee. Volunteers needed, please contact the committee at info@bhplaygrounds.org.

Kids can search for eggs in the apple orchard ongoing throughout the day. They can also try egg tossing or egg rolling on the lawn. “Whiskers” the bunny hops around, greeting children. Families can also do the “Bunny Hop”, visit with the farm animals and even go on a hayride

7th Annual Easter fest

The egg hunt admission will be $5 per child, but complimentary for all kids attending service or Childhood Education class before.

The Addams Family (Rotten) Egg Hunt

Two cast members from The Addams Family on Broadway, will make a special appearance and host a Rotten Easter Egg Hunt at Astor Court in Bronx Zoo. For each egg a child finds, they receive a special prize. All children will receive an Addams Family mask upon entering the zoo.
