Shocking home video taken by a Italian tourist shows the dramatic moments before the crash in the skies over the Hudson River.

New York mayor Michael Bloomberg on the recovery mission after the plane / helicopter crash over Hudson River. It was a mid air crash between a sightseeing helicopter and a small plane. A child was among the plane passengers while five Italian tourists were on board the helicopter. Two bodies have been recovered from the water. So far it is unclear which aircraft the bodies came from.

A Liberty Tours Helicopter and a small plane crashed just before noon today over the Hudson River in New York. Apparently the plane reported engine failure soon after the plane took off from the airport. It is not yet known how many people that were on the plane.
